Varmaa was a movie announced last year, that is the official Tamil Remake of the cult Telugu film Arjun Reddy. It had Dhruv Vikram essaying the role of Vijay Deverakonda, while Megha Chowdhury was signed on as the female lead. Eswari Rao, Raiza and Akash Premkumar were on board, playing crucial supporting roles.
Today, the producers of the film, E4 Entertainment, released a statement saying that they have planned to re shoot the entire film with a different director and actors, barring Dhruv Vikram, who will be retained. When Behindwoods got in touch with the female lead Megha Chowdhury, this is what she had to say about this:
"I'm completely unaware of this. Today is my birthday, and this information is news to me. I will talk to the concerned people soon."
We have to wait to see if she'll be portraying the female lead in the new version too. The reason given by the producers for dropping the film was that they were not happy with the end product and had a lot of creative differences with the team and other differences too.
Stay tuned for further updates on this.
