Varalaxmi Sarathkumar on being presented with the Best Actress award at the Behindwoods Gold Medals yesterday (11th June) for the film Thaarai Thappattai, by director Bala, went quite emotional.
She said, “I am very happy to receive an award for the film from my mentor. Director Bala and my mom are the two people I want to thank. If they are not there, I am not there”.
Bala also talked about Varu’s hard work and how her bones had been broken during a scene but the actress never complained. He also said, “When Varu came after two days with a plaster, I asked her if it was CG. But I realized that she had endured the pain for the scene to shape up well”.
