Recently actress and director Vanitha Vijayakumar was involved in a controversy regarding the ownership of a house. A complaint was filed against her in accordance with this, and a lot of rumours steamed in.

Behindwoods approached her for getting a clear view on this issue, and she explained what the conflict was all about. She said:

"My mother Manjula is Vijayakumar's second wife. She had 3 daughters, out of which, I'm the eldest one. 2 of my sisters have entered the wedlock, and are living with their respective families. This house in Alapakkam was owned by my mother. It is in her name. Once she passed away, I'm the legal heir. But, Vijayakumar intervened, and claimed this to be his property since Manjula was his wife.

I've been living in this house for the past 20 years, and even my passport and Aadhaar card has this address. We were shooting for a film that I'm directing, and on the day of the incident, the police came at midnight and they arrested my technicians. When I went to ask them about this they slapped me."
