Vairamuthu, the prolific lyricist, celebrates his birthday today, the 13th July. He is a recipient of the prestigious Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri awards. He has won the Sahitya Akademi Award for his novel “Kallikaattu Ithihaasam”. He is also a seven-time winner of the National Film Awards, the 7th one for the Seenu Ramasamy film Dharmadurai.
His notable works include Kallikaattu Ithihaasam, Karuvaachi Kaaviyam and Moondram Ulagapor. He has worked in numerous Tamil films as a lyricist and his lyrics in cinema are well appreciated and looked out for.
