Star actor Sivakarthikeyan has taken a plunge into film production with Kanaa, a sports drama starring Aishwarya Rajesh. This film which has women's cricket as its central theme is directed by Arunraja Kamaraj.
Sathyaraj plays Aishwarya Rajesh's father in this film and Sivakarthikeyan appears in a brief cameo. Dhibu Ninan Thomas of Maragadha Naanayam fame is the music director.
The music album released yesterday and has gotten positive reviews from critics and fans alike. The biggest surprise from the album is that Sivakarthikeyan's daughter has sung a song along with her father.
Vaayadi Petha Pulla is the name of the track and Vaikom Vijayalakshmi has accompanied the father-daughter duo in crooning this track.

Yesterday (Aug 23), at the audio launch of Kanaa, Sivakarthikeyan announced his 2nd production venture. He revealed that the movie will be made by Black Sheep YouTube team and will star VJ Rio as the lead.
Now Sivakarthikeyan Productions Twitter handle has revealed the director of the film, Karthik Venugopalan will be making his directorial debut with SK Production No. 2.
"📢 We are excited to announce our Production No.2 with the YouTube sensation @BlackSheepTamil team. Very happy to launch them on Silver Screen; to be directed by @karthikvenu10 which stars @rio_raj in lead 🎬"
VJ Rio who is going to play the protagonist tweeted, "Feels like a dream. A dream I never want to wake up from.
