Actors' Union vice-president Poochi Murugan has demanded that the fee waiver for filmmakers be resumed.

The Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu extended a letter of request to Poochi S Murugan, Vice President, South Indian Actors' Union, and TR Balu, Chairman, DMK Parliamentary Committee, to extend their support and concern for the arts to the artists and to request them to resume the train fare concession which had been suspended for 2 years. TR Balu has written a letter to the Union Railway Minister accepting the request.

In this regard, DMK Lok Sabha Speaker T R Balu in a letter to Union Railway Minister Aswini Vaishnav G brought to notice a letter from Poochi S Murugan, Vice President, South Indian Actors' Association.
Now that all services have been resumed, folk artists who suffered the most during the Great Depression are in a situation where they have to pay the full fare for their trip. This is one of the hardest reasons for their meager income. I urge you to implement the old tariff concessions again. "
