The sudden demise of actor Sasikumar's brother in law, and co-producer in Company Productions, Ashok Kumar has shocked the industry. He committed suicide yesterday, citing in a letter that it is due to the pressure from a usury lender.

Owing to his death, a couple of events slated to happen today have been canceled, as a mark of respect for the departed soul. After a victorious weekend, actor Karthi's Theeran Adhigaram Ondru's success meet was scheduled for today. Also, Nivin Pauly's upcoming Tamil film, Richie's audio, and trailer were also planned for a grand launch. Both these events have been postponed to a later date.
