The trailer of Oththa Seruppu released on 27th May. The film unfolds in a single room, as a suspect Masilamani (played by Parthiban) is being interrogated, with a camera and a walkie talkie facing him. The film's detailed sound design (audiography by Resul Pookuty) dominates the score, as we get to notice even the minute sounds produced by an eye's blink and the flickering lights. The camera is positioned at the most unusual angles.
We get to experience only the voices of supporting characters, as the frame is occupied by Parthiban, who showcases his range as a performer in many scenes of the trailer. The trailer is cut with a combination of faster jump cuts and leisurely paced transitions and segue. The film has a combination of supernatural and procedural film elements. Oththa Seruppu's trailer shows many glimpses of unconventional filmmaking.
