Earlier in the day, it was announced by the Tamil Nadu Film Producers Council that they, partnering up with the Outdoor Unit Association, will be launching a Technician Union. It was also stated that members of FEFSI's Technician Union have broken away to join this new union.

In this context, the TFPC has now made an official press release that the launch was not of another union, but only an official ID issuance event. According to them, it is also to be understood that this is not to oppose FEFSI.
