It was earlier reported that the Tamil Film Producers Council elections would take place on November 22 at Dr MGR Janaki College of Arts and Science, Adyar. Election Commissioner Jayachandiran was appointed by the Chennai High Court to oversee operations.
And as promised, the elections were held in a smooth manner and according to reports, 1,050 votes were registered on Sunday. Due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, the results were announced today on November 23.
As per the latest announcement, Murali Ramanarayanan of Thenandal Films wins the Tamil Film Producers Association election with 557 votes while Director T. Rajendar loses the position securing 388 votes.
Apart from them, Mr. Thenappan has obtained 87 votes while others have secured 18 number of votes. Reportedly, actors like Rajinikanth, Dhanush, director Bharathiraja, producer AVM Saravanan, singer SP Charan did not cast their votes this time.
