The amazingly talented actor Suriya is currently basking in the success of his recent hit – Soorarai Pottru that has been receiving thunderous responses from the film critics and audiences as well.
Post which, the actor is currently busy shooting for his next with Gautham Menon for Navarasa. He then has a number of projects lined up in his kitty - Vetri Maaran’s Vaadivasal, an untitled film with Pandiraj and Aruvaa with director Hari.
Meanwhile, one among them who appreciated Suriya’s performance in Soorarai Pottru was director Vasanth who had introduced the actor in films with the 1997 film Nerukku Ner. In the long appreciation letter, Vasanth also mentioned “Though you have tried hard and delivered good acting in many films so far, this is your best. You never acted as Nedumaaran Rajangam but lived like him. In the final scene, even after winning, there was no smile in your face. That determination to achieve more was evident. Every time Nerumaaran lost, you won as a performer.”
To which, the actor replied, “I will forever be a seed you sown. Thank you so much.” Now, the actor who had once admitted that director Vasanth had made him cry during Nerukku Ner shoot due to his lack of acting skills are doing heavy rounds.
He also recalled that his poor performance in the shooting spot made the entire unit upset. At that time, Suriya, after eating Biriyani in the lunch break, had said “Kolkata Biriyani tastes good” to director Vasanth and what happened next broke him. Vasanth had replied in a distressful tone “Really?? Eat well”. Suriya was ashamed of himself after hearing that from him and cried a lot that day to that extent that his pillows got wet.
