As we have already reported, a few members of Suriya's fans club have gathered outside the office of a popular TV channel to protest against them. This took place after a two VJs from the channel had made degrading and mocking comments on Suriya.

To comment about this, Suriya took to his Twitter page to subtly ask his fans to not waste their time by doing this. He tweeted, "‏தரம் தாழ்ந்த விமர்சனங்களுக்கு எதிர்வினையாற்றி நம் தரத்தை நாம் குறைத்துகொள்ள வேண்டாம். உங்களின் நேரத்தையும், சக்தியையும் பயனுள்ள செயல்களுக்கு செலவிடுங்கள். சமூகம் பயன் பெற. 🙏 #AnbaanaFans", which roughly translates to, "We don't need to stoop low to act against substandard criticism. Devote your time and energy to  effective actions through which the society would benefit"
