The recent tragedy that shook the entire film industry was the death of three crew members due to an accident at the Indian 2 shooting spot at EVP film city in Chennai. The Assistant Director Krishna, Art Assistant Chandran, and Production Assistant Madhu were the technicians who lost their lives, unfortunately. Many film industry artists had marked their condolences to this tragic accident.
Now, actor STR has expressed his feelings in a press statement. He said, "All the cinema artists and technicians, especially the stunt artists are returning home, escaping death everyday. I always believed for stars like me, each and every technician's hardwork helps us in our individual's growth. We all reach great heights mainly due to their selfless work. I treat all of them like my own family.
"The accident at the sets of Indian 2 has come as a real shock to me. Those dear departed souls would have started their film journey with bigger dreams. Tears keep welling up in my eyes, when I think about the hard situation of those families.
"No such accidents should occur in the future. Artists and technicians should take their safety more carefully - this should also be taken care of by their respective associations. Neither money nor words can compensate for death. So I ask everyone to focus on their lives and ensure safety while working.
"I offer my deepest condolences to the friends and families of the deceased crew members. I pray to God that the family may have the strength to bear this utmost emotional trial. I hope the injured technicians return home soon and safely."
