SS RAJAMOULI GETS BOTHERED ABOUT FAKE BOX OFFICE RECORDS

Director SS Rajamouli is the happiest man in town, with his Baahubali franchise becoming the biggest film of Indian cinema’s history. His recently released Baahubali 2 has gone on to become an enormous success at the box-office. Rajamouli’s previous films have also been successful and one such venture was Magadheera starring Ram Charan Tej and produced by Allu Aravind. There had been rumours doing the rounds that, Rajamouli was not happy with Allu Aravind as he had not been credited for the work and success of his Magadheera. However, in a recent interview with Telugu media, SS Rajamouli opened up about the actual reason for his dissatisfaction and also as to why he did not attend the 100th day function of Magadheera. SS Rajamouli said:

“I was righteously credited for my work in my Ram Charan starrer Magadheera. However, I had other issues with Allu Aravind that have no connection with this. I had previously told Allu Aravind (the producer) that, I am not happy with fake box-office figures and also with extension of the movie’s run even after it became a successful venture. So we agreed on certain terms and conditions. But however, later on, Allu Aravind went back on his words and there was an inflation of the box-office figures and a forceful extension in the number of days that the movie was running in theatres.

To me, the number of days actually doesn’t matter and if the movie does very well in it’s shelf life, it is more than enough. But due to this inflation even after we had agreed on some terms, I was not happy with Allu Aravind. I even refused to attend the 100th day function of Magadheera.

It would not be great from the fans point of view to give lower numbers. I am not saying the movie did not even do well. But even though 80 percent of the figures quoted were true, there was an inflation of up to 20 percent. This inflated number was my main concern and I thought it was ingenuine. Otherwise, there is nothing like I was not credited for my work or something.”
