Sivakarthikeyan's dark-comedy entertainer 'Doctor' was released in theatres on October 9. The movie, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, which revolves around the theme organ trafficking, opened to tremendous positive response in theatres. Celebrities, critics and fans who were in awe of the movie which included Sivakarthikeyan's performance, poured in their reviews on social media.
With the movie's popularity increasing multifold, several fans thronged theatres and all showtimes have been running housefull in multiple theatres. The movie stars Priyanka Mohan, Vinay, Yogi Babu, Archana, Arun Alexandar, Deepa, and Ilavarasu in other pivotal roles. 'Doctor' had a simultaneous release in Telugu as 'Varun Doctor'.
It was revealed by sources that 'Doctor's' gross collection in Tamil Nadu on the first day collection was recorded to be around Rs 7.36 crores. With reports stating that the movie had already collected Rs 60 crores within three weeks of its release, the movie is well on its way to beat the Rs 100 crore mark soon.
While there were a lot of speculations about the movie making its world television premiere sooner than expected, Sun TV, which has grabbed the satellite rights for the movie, announced that the superhit movie will be telecast on the channel on the festive occasion of Deepavali, November 4 at 6.30 pm. While there are talks about an OTT release on the same night, nothing has been confirmed yet. It is to be noted that Rajinikanth's much-awaited 'Annaatthe' and Vishal-Arya's 'Enemy' is hitting theatres on the same day.
Interestingly, Arya's 'Sarpatta Parambarai' and Santhanam's 'Dikkiloona' are also gearing up for world television premieres on November 4. While 'Sarpatta Parambarai' is being telecast on Kalaignar TV at 6.30 pm, 'Dikkiloona' is being telecast at 6 pm.
