Actor Simbu is currently working on Mani Ratnam's Chekka Chivantha Vaanam and Venkat Prabhu's Maanadu. The actor took some time off his busy schedule to sing a song for Periyar. The song is titled Periyar Kuthu and is a tribute to the legend. It has been composed by Ramesh Thamilmani.

Popular lyricist Madhan Karky has penned the lyrics for this. The shoot of the song took place yesterday. Simbu has sung as well as danced to the song. This song is produced by Deepan Boopathy.
