Actress Shruti Haasan recently rendered a piano version of her father Kamal Haasan's classic song 'Thenpandi Cheemaiyile' from the Mani Ratnam directed gangster drama Nayagan.
Shruti Haasan posted a video of her version of the song, with a caption that read, "Thenpandi cheemayile. I’ve always loved this song." Originally composed by Isaignani Ilayaraja, Thenpandi Cheemaiyile was sung by Kamal Haasan and Ilayaraja, with lyrics written by Pulamaipithan.
Apart from being an actress, Shruti Haasan is also a singer and composer, and has previously handled the composing duties of the 2009 thriller Unnaipol Oruvan, which starred Kamal Haasan and Mohanlal in central roles. Shruti Haasan will be next seen opposite Vijay Sethupathi in SP Jananathan's Laabam.
