Actress and singer Shruti Haasan have added another feather to her cap. She becomes the first star from South to be signed on by USA Network for their upcoming television series titled, ‘Treadstone’.
The series revolves around the origin and present-day functioning of a CIA Black ops program called ‘Treadstone’ which trains its recruits as nearly superhuman assassins. Shruti will be seen playing the role of a young girl, Nira Patel whose job as a waitress in Delhi serves as a cover for her double life as a trained assassin.
The series, penned by ‘Heroes’ creator Tim Kring also stars Jeremy Irvine (War Horse, Great Expectations), Brian J. Smith (Sense 8), Omar Metwally (The Affair) and Tracy Ifeachor (Quantico) apart from Shruti.
Shruti has performed at some of the most prestigious music venues in the UK and is currently working on her debut album as well. On the film front, the actress will be next seen in Laabam opposite Vijay Sethupathi which is directed by S. P. Jananathan.
