Shruti Haasan, in an exclusive interaction with Behindwoods, spoke about he life, work amongst many things. Starting with the spectacular single she released recently - Edge, Shruti thanked everyone for the amazing response she received for it. On request, she also sang a few lines from the popular track.
Asked if Kamal Haasan ever wondered how my daughter sings exceptionally, Shruti replied- "Actually I have appa's voice. If he was born as a woman, he would sung like me. Appa is a very good singer, and it's like an expression of our experiences - like our eyes. I get my singing voice from him."
About her dream collaboration with an actor, the actress immediately replied - "I wanted to work with this actor because I am a very big fan of his - actually I had two chances but it didn't work out - It is Irrfan khan. I have never told anyone that I wanna work with them - not because of ego or anything - because its awkward. But when I met Irrfan Khan I had told him that I am his biggest fan. Now it's not possible to work with him and it's hearbreaking - mainly because as a fan I can't see his work."
Talking about Kamal Haasan as a father, she says, "In my point of view, it's different how you see him as an actor and how I see him. If you ask my childhood friends, they will say - "We know Kamal uncle is a famous actor - yes, but we know him as Shruti's dad - cool, fun, he will get us food and all." I think that's great achievement for a man who has seen many success and he appeals to people on a humane level and that's a beautiful quality."
When asked if she had any golden memories as a family, Shruti said, "Not anything in particular - every memory is good but it's been 15 - 20 years, we haven't sat together as a family. It was during the release of Akshara's first film - That's when we last sat together and watched the movie as a family!"
