Not just as a politician, Kalaignar Karunanidhi will always be remembered for his exemplary works in the field of Tamil cinema as well. He was a revolutionary when it comes to screenwriting.

Several film celebrities have been grieving for the death of Karunanidhi since yesterday evening. Some of them have even attended the funeral today. Shankar who is apparently stuck in Ukraine couldn't make it to Kalaignar's funeral but has taken to his Twitter space to share a heartfelt condolence message.

"Saddened, hearing about the great leader, Tamil scholar and writer Thiru dr. Kalaignar. It’s a big loss to Tamil and tamilians. Missing badly to pay my respects as stuck in Ukraine . My deepest condolences to his family and followers . May his soul Rest In Peace."
