Initially, Selvaraghavan and Suriya's NGK was scheduled to release for Diwali along with Vijay's Sarkar. NGK also stars Rakul Preet and Sai Pallavi.

Later, the film faced delays due to production issues and the release date is not fixed yet. The shooting is currently progressing swiftly. 

The film is one of the most expected films from the latter part of 2018 as it is Suriya and Selva's first collaboration, and Dream Warrior Productions are back after two successful outings with Aruvi and Theeran. 

Now, ever since the film faced a production delay, the fans have been eagerly awaiting updates about the film's progress. Now, Selva has come out with a humble request to all the fans,

He tweeted, "Humble request to fans.We have tremendous respect for you,but please remember that for one update we have to work so many days or weeks with all our focus and energy. I don't believe giving you an update just for the sake of it.We are all working hard and time will come soon."

As reported earlier, Suriya's NGK was officially announced to be postponed from its initial Diwali release plan, by the film's production house, Dream Warrior Pictures. 

Director Selvaraghavan took to his Twitter space to apologize for the unexpected delay, on behalf of his entire team. He posted, "My dear friends.we are so sorry about the delay.we were all working so hard but there were few things happened beyond our control. Now we will work much more harder and try to bring you a good film.  As always your support means everything to us and thanks for the understanding."

The latest buzz is that the makers are looking to release the film for the Christmas weekend in December, though there are no official confirmations about it. Stay tuned.
