Actor Sasikumar met the press and gave an emotional statement after the suicide of his brother-in-law Ashok Kumar:

"Ashok Kumar, my brother-in-law, was like a shadow to me. He was taking care of my production house. Now just before the time of my film's release, we have been issued a red card to not screen our movie due to financial issues. Ashok was under depression and committed suicide. He has written a death note. I just can't say anything more than that now."
