A pall of gloom descended on the Tamil TV industry on Monday evening (August 16) as the news of popular anchor and VJ Ananda Kannan’s demise broke out. The anchor-turned-actor who was battling bile duct cancer for several months, passed away without responding to treatments. He was 48.
Sharing this saddening news, Director Venkat Prabhu tweeted 'A great friend a great human is no more!! #RIPanandakannan my deepest condolences". For the unversed, Ananda had made a guest appearance in Venkat’s movie 'Saroja'. Condolences have been pouring from all corners for his demise.
Anand started his career with television in Singapore. He later moved to Chennai and joined Sun Music as a video jockey. Some of his popular shows include 'Sindubad' and 'Savaal Singapore'. He also acted in a few Tamil movies, but they were not released.
