Ram Mukerji was an Indian film director, producer and screenwriter in Hindi and Bengali cinema. He was one of the founders of Filmalaya Studios, Mumbai. Father to the popular actress Rani Mukerji, Ram is survived by his wife, daughter and son Raja Mukerji.

The veteran filmmaker's demised occured at his residence earlier today. He was 84. Several Bollywood personalities have mourned his death.
