Producer Gnanavel Raja had been serving as Secretary of the Tamilnadu Film Producers Council to date, and has now decided to step down owing to his filing of nomination to serve as President of the Chennai Kanchipuram Thiruvallur District Film Distributors Association.

Press statements reveal his resignation letter to the TFPC, wherein he has cited "personal reasons" for his decision. There seems to be no link between this move by Gnanavel Raja and director Cheran's latest allegations.
