On 26th of February 2019, an airstrike was conducted by the Indian Air Force as a retaliatory operation to the recent Pulwama blast carried out by Jaish-e-Mohammad, a Pakistani terror outfit which led to the loss of the lives of 42 CRPF personnel. The airstrike was targetted at the headquarters of JeM in Balakot, approximately killing 300 terrorists as a result.
The airstrike was carried out by IAF's Tiger squadron comprising of 10-12 Mirage 2000 jets launching Crystal Maze missiles and Spice 2000 bombs, targetting the terror hotspots of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK)
In the aftermath of this operation, the Pakistan Government's Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Fawad Ahmed Chaudhary took a decision to not release Indian films in Pakistan. The ministry also decided that they will not allow the release of Indian advertisments and television programmes
