In what comes across as a piece of devastating news, Telugu film producer Pokuri Rama Rao breathed his last on July 3 evening at a private hospital in Hyderabad. A few days ago, the 65-year-old had tested positive for coronavirus and was under observation. His condition gradually deteriorated yesterday despite being attended to, by a group of doctors at the hospital.
Ramo Rao had undergone surgery to take care of his heart-related ailments, ten months ago. His last rites will take place today (July 4) in the presence of family members at Erragadda Smashana Vaatika in Hyderabad.
Along with his brother Pokuri Babu Rao, he has produced many films under their home banner, Eetaram Films. Ranam, Ontari and Yagnam are a few of their productions.
Corona-positive cases in Telangana, especially in Hyderabad, has been on the increase. Recently, Tamil-Telugu TV actress Navya Swamy tested positive and took to Instagram to share her Covid-19 experiences.
Earlier, celebrities like producer Bandla Ganesh, designer Shilpa Reddy and her husband tested positive. All three have now recovered and are in quarantine at their respective homes in the city.
