The lockdown owing to corona has had a cascading effect on most industries and the movie industry is no exception. Work has been on the downhill and the latest has been movies that have completed production, going straight to OTT, thereby terrorising theatre owners.
Recently in a Twitter chat, Taapsee Pannu had opened about taking pay cuts after a few actors had said that they would be taking pay cuts in order to help out producers. She was quoted as saying: Because we are not shooting anything these days so we aren't getting any salaries either. But I am ready that our salaries will also get slashed.
She also spoke about the current furore that has been going on. Theatre owners up in arms against movie makers for exhibiting their films directly on OTT and said, “I am not shocked that they are angry. They anger is valid but we must wait and watch which way the wheels of time turn. Whoever can find a way out between the time and circumstances they have been presented with, will be successful.”
One of Taapsee’s last features, Thappad is currently running on Amazon Prime and has been receiving rave reviews, once again.
