A Facebook post by the cops from Blackpool in England has been subject to jokes and memes in the past couple of days, following a hilarious incident that involved actor David Schwimmer, better known as Ross from the much-loved TV show, Friends.
The Blackpool Police Department took to Facebook to put up a picture of a man who stole a crate of beers from a store in Blackpool, asking people to identify the thief. The comments on the post changed the course of the whole matter, as the man in the picture possessed a great resemblance to David Schwimmer.
People started making jokes and memes about this matter and it was even taken seriously by the cops that they had to check with David Schwimmer if it were him. It was later clarified that "Ross" was in New York at that time.
But David didn't shy away from making a joke himself. He tweeted a small video of him funnily walking across the aisle of a supermarket with a crate of beers and a look of a thief.

Officers, I swear it wasn't me.

As you can see, I was in New York.
To the hardworking Blackpool Police, good luck with the investigation.#itwasntme pic.twitter.com/EDFF9dZoYR
