The Tamil entertainment industry was sent into a state of shock when the news of VJ Chitra dying by suicide was received. Yesterday night (December 14), her husband Hemnath was arrested by the police for abetting the actress’s suicide.
Now, more details have come out in the police investigation. Cops reveal that Hemnath reportedly picked up quarrels with the actress over her intimate scenes in the hit serial, Pandian Stores.
Police officials said that on the day Chitra returned from the shoot on December 9, Hemnath picked up a fight with the actress asking with whom she was dancing and also said a loose phrase “Go die” and left the room, post which Chitra is said to have taken the extreme step.
Hemnath was arrested by the police post six days of questioning. Chitra’s mother had voiced strong suspicions about the late actress’s husband to the police and in several interviews as well.
Chitra was popular for her role of Mullai in the hit serial Pandian Stories and was just 28 at the time of her unfortunate demise. She and her husband had registered their marriage two months back while an official ceremony was to be held in early 2021 before such terrible things happened.
