The 50th edition of International Film Festival of India had kickstarted in Goa on Wednesday which will go on till the 28th of November. The two powerful icons of Indian cinema, Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth had graced the opening ceremony.
While Superstar Rajinikanth was chosen as the “Icon of the Golden Jubilee”, Bollywood’s Shahenshah, Amitabh was the chief guest of this ceremony. Accepting his award, Thalaivar’s speech took the Internet by storm as usual.
Apart from that, 'Sholay' filmmaker Ramesh Sippy, cinematographer-director P.C. Sreeram and producer N. Chandra were honoured as the legends of Indian cinema. They were awarded by Amitabh Bachchan and Goa’s Chief Minister, Pramod Sawant.
An elated PC Sreeram took to his social media and thanked the IFFI for the honour. Sharing pictures from the event, he wrote, “#Thank u IFFI! Thank u for the honour! To me "Past is a prologue " " miles to go to capture many dreams"
