The 2021 Oscars took place earlier today, April 26. Due to the COVID pandemic, the Oscars were organised two months later than usual this year. The ceremony was conducted in a socially distanced manner.
The Academy award for the Best Actor in a Leading role went to Anthony Hopkins for his work in The Father. Apparently, Anthony Hopkins has created history by bagging the award, for as of yet, he remains to be the oldest-ever acting Oscar winner.
Hopkins won the Oscar for best actor in 1992 for his performance in “The Silence of the Lambs”; he was nominated two more times in the category, in 1994 (“The Remains of the Day”) and 1996 (“Nixon”). He has also been nominated for best supporting actor twice, though has never won.
