One movie that is deeply etched in one’s heart is undoubtedly Alphonse Puthren’s directorial Premam that was released a few years ago featuring Nivin Pauly, Anupama Parameswaran, Sai Pallavi, Madonna Sebastian in the lead roles. The film did well in the box-office.
Off late, director Alphonse Puthren has been hitting the headlines where he seems to be clarifying his fans’ doubts regarding the film. And saying so, in a recent interaction with fans, the director has revealed an interesting secret about the famous ‘Malar’ character.
When a fan asked him whom he (the director) thinks would be a perfect choice for Malar character apart from Sai Pallavi, Alphonse replied, “In the beginning when I wrote the script it was Malayalam. I wanted Asin to act in Malar’s Malayalam version. The character was from Fort Kochi... I couldn’t contact Asin. Nivin also tried. Then I gave up the idea and wrote it in Tamizh. This is in the beginning stage of the script. I studied in Ooty when I was too young and then did my film studies in Chennai. That is why the strong Tamizh connection."
Meanwhile on the professional front, Alphonse Puthren last year officially announced his next film 'Paattu' with Fahadh Faasil and Nayanthara in the lead role. He had also recently revealed his wish of directing Rajinikanth.
