Actor Nivin Pauly won plaudits for his role of a dreaded gangster in the Geetu Mohandas-directed 2019 film Moothon, which co-starred Sobhita Dhulipala, Shashank Arora, Dilesh Pothan, Roshan Matthew and others.
The actor was awarded Best actor in a Lead role- male (Malayalam) for his intense performance in Moothon. The award was presented to him by celebrated rapper and musician Hiphop Adhi. The actor made a grand red carpet entry before hitting the stage with his stylish rampwalk after receiving the award.
In a special conversation with Behindwoods VJ Nikki, the actor opens up on various aspects of his profession. When asked which Tamil actor could reprise his iconic role in an imaginary Tamil remake remake of Preman with options consisting of Vijay Sethupathi and Sivakarthikeyan, the actor responded "Both (Vijay Sethupathi and Sivakarthikeyan) can do the role better, even Dhanush will portray the role superbly."
When asked to choose between Nazriya and Sai Pallavi, Nivin courted the curveball with a diplomatic answer, "I did two films (Neram and Bangalore Days) with Nazriya and Premam with Sai Pallavi. Both of them are good friends of mine and equally talented."
