The Polish erotic thriller - 365 Days - is the number one film on Netflix India. However, Twitterati and critics seem anything but impressed.
The "romance" between a mafia boss Massimo (Michele Morrone) and corporate employee Laura (Anna Maria Sieklucka) has left many disgusted for romanticising kidnapping, stalking, a forced relationship and what not!
A review for Variety says, "That, of course, is the premise of “365 Days” and also one of the oldest, falsest and most enraging canards of rape apologism: That it can’t be rape if it seems, after the fact, like she “enjoyed” it."
"If you haven't heard of this movie yet, you're about to. It's just been released on Netflix, and it attempts to portray kidnapping and gaslighting as sexy and romantic," a user posted on Twitter.
"Lmfao what kind of stupid 50 shades of grey is this 365 Days movie on Netflix?Shit is cringey af. guy kidnaps a girl. Won’t let her go until she falls in love w him. Touches her w.out her consent & y’all think it’s “romantic” only bc the main guy is mediocre? Trash," another tweeted.
