Cuties is a 2020 French teen coming-of-age comedy drama film written and directed by Maïmouna Doucouré on her feature film directorial debut. The film stars Fathia Youssouf, Médina El Aidi-Azouni and Maïmouna Gueye in the lead roles.
The movie, which got wide recognition and awards post its Sundance Film Festival stint. The posters used by Netflix for 'Cuties' has got Netflix into trouble, as netizens felt the images deviated from the movie's plot, depicting young girls inappropriately.
Netflix apologized for the mishap and tweeted, "We're deeply sorry for the inappropriate artwork that we used for Mignonnes/Cuties. It was not OK, nor was it representative of this French film which won an award at Sundance. We’ve now updated the pictures and description."
