In a special interview to Behindwoods, Boney Kapoor, the producer of Nerkonda Paarvai spoke about his deceased wife, the legendary actress Late. Sridevi's passion for her craft and South Indian cinema, their irresistible love for sweets and much more.
The producer said that Sridevi's presence is indelible "She was a legend in her lifetime and will remain one after she left us. She may have left for the world but for me, she's still around, and is wishing us well and taking care (of us)". Boney Kapoor cited an instance that Sridevi's last film, Mom, had recently grossed sixteen million dollars in the Chinese market.
When asked about whether she expressed her desire to make a comeback in Tamil cinema, he said "After English Vinglish, she did Puli, and was waiting for more opportunities. Unfortunately, Puli didn't turn out the way she expected. But her passion for South Indian films was always there." Boney Kapoor revealed that Sridevi would play the role of interpreter whenever he sets out to buy the remake rights of a South Indian film.
When asked about his favourite Sridevi films, he said "There are many films, be it Sigappu Rojakkal and Padhinaaru Vayadhinile (in Tamil). In Telugu, I liked her glamourous performance in (Jagadeka Veerudu) Athiloka Sundari and Kshana Kshanam. I like every film she did in Hindi."
