Former India captain and Wicket Keeper Mahendra Singh Dhoni announced his retirement from all forms of International cricket on August 15th. The entire nation is still sad from this sudden decision, but are also grateful for what he has done to Indian Cricket in his career.
Captain Cool had posted a video collage of all the memorable moments in his cricketing career and wrote a caption saying “Thanks. Thanks a lot for ur love and support throughout.from 1929 hrs consider me as Retired”
This came as a shocker to all his fans throughout the world, as they were eager to watch Mahi sport the Blue jersey one more time. MSD’s last International appearance was against New Zealand in the ICC Cricket World Cup Semi-final last year.
Today, MS Dhoni has shared the long message shared by Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi to him. PM had written a letter thanking Dhoni’s contribution to the country in Cricket and appreciated him for excelling not only as a batsman or a wicket-keeper, but also as a great leader. He had also stated that Dhoni’s life will be an inspiration, on how he determined his own future, without a very big background.
He reacted to the Prime Minister’s words of praise by saying “An Artist,Soldier and Sportsperson what they crave for is appreciation, that their hard work and sacrifice is getting noticed and appreciated by everyone.thanks PM @narendramodi for your appreciation and good wishes.”
This Tweet also marks Mahi’s official statement post he announced his retirement. Currently, he is practicing along with the team of Chennai Super Kings, with whom he will be heading to UAE for the upcoming Indian Premier League.
