‘Drishyam’ was a pathbreaking movie in the history of Malayalam Cinema. It was the first Malayalam movie to collect 50 crores in the box office. The crime-thriller directed by Jeethu Joseph, was remade into different language and most of them were successes. The film was also remade in Chinese language titled ‘Sheep Without a Shepherd ‘, which was released recently.
After the success of Drishyam, Jeethu Joseph did couple of movies. His second tamil movie ‘Thambi’, featuring Karthi and Jyotika will be released on December 20. Jeethu is again teaming up with Mohanlal after ‘Drishyam’. The new movie is titled ‘Ram’. An official launch of the movie was held on Monday.
‘Ram’ will also see popular south-Indian actress Trisha, acting opposite Mohanlal in an important role. Trisha’s debut in Malayalam was through Shyamaprasad’s ‘Hey Jude’ in 2018. The actress was also present at the function. She said, she always wanted to do a movie with Mohanlal.
The thriller-genre movie will be produced by Ramesh P Pillai and Sudhan S Pillai under the banner of Abhishek Films. The movie is expected to be released during Onam 2020. Mohanlal’s next release is ‘Big Brother’. The movie directed by Siddique will be released on January next year.
