It was reported a few days ago that popular Hollywood actress and former 'Glee' star Naya Rivera in an unfortunate incident that took place on July 8 is reported to have drowned while boating with her 4-year-old son on a lake near Los Angeles, US.
According to reports, Naya was found on Monday at a Southern California lake. Confirming the same at an afternoon news conference, Ventura County Sheriff's officials stated that the body that search crews found floating in the northeast corner of Lake Piru earlier in the day was that of the 33-year-old actress.
Naya’s son, Josey Hollis Dorsey, was found asleep and alone on the boat the duo had rented which led to the cops being alerted. The little boy later told the police that after the two went swimming, the actress pushed him into the boat but when he turned around to see her, she had disappeared underwater.
During the press conference, Ventura County Sheriff Bill Ayub said that Rivera had mustered enough energy to help her son, but not to save herself. The cops believe that the actor had been trapped by vegetation beneath the surface of the lake, which is why it took five days to spot her. The fact that the actress had died while trying to save her son was what broke everyone’s hearts.
