After a day of wait, Prithviraj Sukumaran has finally revealed his next project. Yesterday (August17), he took to his social media handles to announce that that the '2 big M’s of Malayalam cinema' - Mohanlal and Mammootty will be launching a surprise project on Wednesday (August 18). Titled 'Kaapa', his next film has two heroines - Manju Warrier and Anna Ben. Asif Ali also plays a pivotal role in the film.
Sharing the motion poster of the film that gives a background into the story and introduces the actors in the film, Prithviraj wrote, "Privileged to be part of #KAAPA - The Ring of Death! #FEFKA Writers Union and #TheatreOfDreams Production. A story out of my city.. THIRUVANANTHAPURAM!"
The upcoming movie is helmed by filmmaker Venu and the venture is initiated by FEFKA Writers Union. GR Indugopa is the scenarist. 'Kaapa' is an abbreviation for The Kerala Anti-social Activities (Prevention) Act, which is commonly known as 'Goonda Act' in Kerala. This hints that the movie might be based on the same.
