Model-Actress Sonia Agarwal and her friend were arrested a few days back after a medical report confirmed that the duo were under the influence of drugs when they were arrested from a star hotel.
The police had recovered around 40 grams of marijuana at her house during a raid before the arrests. Sonia Agarwal, DJ Vachan Chinnappa and a Businessman Bharath were nabbed after the arrest of Thomas Anagaha Kalu, from Nigeria, for allegedly selling drugs to customers in HBR Layout in Bengaluru on August 12.
While this was causing a stir in the Sandalwood industry, a few media houses mistook Tamil Actress Sonia Aggarwal - who rose to fame with her performances in '7G Rainbow Colony' and 'Kaadhal Kondein' - as the one who was arrested in the drugs case and even reported the news with her pictures.
Enraged by this, Sonia Aggarwal took to social media to warn media houses for wrongly reporting the news with her pictures and said she will take legal action towards the media houses for defamation.
She shared a video where she clarified her stance on the case and vented her anguish against journalists who failed to do their homework. "Here my 2 cents for the media and for the journalist's who doesnt bother to do their home work properly and is very eager to print and defame a person without any investigation...,whilst I am in Kerala shooting for my new project," she wrote on Twitter.
Adding on she said, "PS - I will be taking appropriate legal action towards the concerned media houses and journalists for defamation and putting me and my family through this mental agony and shock caused by all the continuous calls and messages since morning."
