Thalapathy Vijay was last seen in the 2019 sports drama ‘Bigil’, which was directed by Atlee. Vijay was seen in a dual avatar in the movie and the character ‘Rayyappan’ was loved by all. Vijay is currently awaiting the release of his next biggie ‘Master’.
Initially, the movie was scheduled to hit the screens on the 9th of April this year, ahead of the Tamil New Year’s Day weekend. However, the spike in the number of COVID 19 cases has led to the indefinite postponement of the movie.
Recently, Amazon Prime Video posted a Tweet, listing the names of the August releases. Surprisingly, the mention of 2017 Hollywood film ‘Master’ in the list has stirred up a lot of confusion among twitteratis, as many interpreted that it was Vijay’s ‘Master’ that is being released on August 14th. A section of the internet thought it was the Tamil film ‘Master’ that is actually being released directly, skipping the theatrical run.
Sources close to us have revealed that this Ad has got nothing to do with Vijay’s ‘Master’ and the release plans of the movie are still uncertain. However, had the movie hit the screens in April as per schedule, it would have been released online around August, pretty much as the same ad.
The producers have also cleared the air, stating that 'Master' will have a grand theatrical release. They Tweeted "It is 2016 Korean film #Master listed on Amazon Prime and not #ThalapathyVijay ’s #Master!! We will have a grand theatrical release 😊😊"
‘Master’ stars Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi locking horns with each other and also stars Malavika Mohanan, Shanthnu, Arjun Das and Andrea playing crucial roles. The movie is helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and has music by Anirudh. Stay tuned for more concrete updates on this biggie.
