Mammootty's CBI5 : The Brain is a much awaited Investigation thriller from malayalam. Directed by K.Madhu, written by SN.Swami. where as Mammootty reprising the role as CBI officer named SEETHURAMA IYER.

The first installment of CBI was Oru CBI Diary Kurippu which got released in 1988. Followed by 4th installment was released in 2005 ,After 17 years the much loved franchise is back & now iconic #CBI5TheBrain is hitting the screens this May1st Sunday.
The most popular CBI theme music in other films is also used in this. The film stars Renji Panicker, Anoop Menon, Saikumar, Soubin Shahir, Dileesh Pothan, Prasanth Alexander, Ramesh Pisharody, Jayakrishnan, Sudev Nair, Azees Nedumangad, Santhosh Keezhattoor, Edavela Babu, Kottayam Ramesh, Mukesh Kumar, Krishna, Suresh, Malavika Menon, Malavika Nair and Swasika in the lead roles.
The film is being produced by Swargachitra Appachan. Sreekar Prasad handles the editing work.
Film got censored earlier today with U/A certificate, while the posters created lot of interest, teaser has set bar high on the movie and trailer will be releasing soon. The film will be releasing on May 1 which also happens to be Ajith Kumar's birthday.
