Famous lyricist Muthu Vijayan passed away on Friday, September 6. He is said to have died due to jaundice which had affected his liver. The noted lyricist has written more than 800 songs and some of them are still deeply etched in our hearts.
It is worth mentioning that the lyricist has penned the hit track “Megamai Vanthu Pogiren” from Thulladha Manamum Thullum that featured Vijay and Simran in the lead roles. He had also penned “Kannukkulle Unnai Vaithen” song from Pennin Manathai Thottu that featured Prabhu Deva and Jaya Seal amongst others.
He is said to have stayed with the lyric writer association. Apart from penning lyrics for songs, he is also said to have penned dialogues for films and have worked as assistant director as well. His funeral took place last evening in Chennai at 4.
