It all started in 2013 when Lingusamy had narrated his script to Suriya and the duo confirmed doing a movie together. Later, the narrated script was reported to have similarities to director Seeman’s script for his movie which was titled as Pagalavan and was originally planned to feature Vijay, then Vikram but later reportedly, opted Jayam Ravi as the lead.
When it was found that the script of the movies had resemblance to each other’s scripts, Seeman who had narrated his version to his chosen actor 10 years ago from 2013, decided to file a complaint against director Lingusamy to the Tamilnadu Film Directors’ Association.
Later, the story dispute between the directors was resolved amicably in 2013 itself by Directors’ association President Vikraman and director R.K.Selvamani stating that Lingusamy could direct the movie with his script in other languages except for Tamil till Seeman releases his version in the theatres.
Meanwhile, this controversy again hit the headlines recently, when Seeman filed a complaint against Lingusamy to the South Indian Film Writers’ association. When the association demanded an explanation from the latter, Lingusamy pointed out that it was already resolved in 2013. Thereby, the writers’ association has now issued a statement which stated that as Lingusamy did not break the conditions that were mentioned in 2013, no actions will be taken again the director.
