We have been coming across several devastating and sad news of popular persons passing away suddenly either due to prolonged illness or natural death or some other factors. Just this morning, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar shared that his mother passed away this morning.
Now, another saddening news that we come across is that of popular Tamil scholar, poet and veteran film lyricist Pulamaipithan who breathed his last today (September 8). He was also a former deputy chairman of the Member of Legislative Council.
The veteran was admitted to Fortis Malar Hospital, Chennai on Tuesday, August 31 and was on life support. He got recognition through the song "Naan yaar nee yaar" which was featured in the 1968 Tamil film Kudiyirundha Koyil starring MGR and Jayalalithaa.
He entered the film industry at the age of 29 and in a film career which spanned over five decades, he had penned lyrics for several idols across generations - from MGR to Vijay. Several celebs and fans have taken to their social media to offer their condolences to the bereaving family!
