After the release of Vallavan, Simbu had announced a project called Kettavan in the year 2008. Kettavan was a much-touted film back then and the first look of this Simbu starrer was nothing short of outrageous with a poster design that ‘screamed out’ to get your attention.
GT Nandu was supposed to direct Kettavan but due to some reason, the film did not take off. Now after 10 years, Nandu is back with a movie featuring fresh faces.
Speaking about the film, GT Nandhu says, “As per the initial plan, the story was supposed to take place in Kumbakonam, but then Vishal sir announced a strike in Tamil Nadu, that’s when our producer thought we could shoot the film in Australia. We eventually found some talented artists in Australia who had the urge to act. You will know how good they are while you watch the film."
About Kettavan, - “I am still eager to do the film with Simbu, not just me, even his fans want him to do Kettavan. I am okay to shoot the film even in Australia if STR is ready. I wish to make a grand film if I could get Simbu’s dates.
I have another idea too, if I could get just 10 days from Simbu’s call sheet, I will make a film based on Simbu’s real life and this film will create a bigger controversy. If it happens that will be an evergreen film in Simbu’s career.”
