In an exclusive interview with Behindwoods, Radha Ravi talked a lot about his upcoming film Sarkar. When asked if Sarkar would face any controversies because it is a political film, Radha Ravi replied saying:

"Even Virumandi had release issues, they wanted to stop the film because it was named Sandiyar, then the protestors wanted to watch the film before getting screened to the public, all these are just for the sake of watching the film without paying, nothing else.

Similarly, when it was very hard to get tickets for Mersal, some BJP members started protesting just to watch the movie. Maybe had they asked the producers, they would have arranged a special show for them.

Ok, did they remove that dialogue from Mersal after the protest? Nobody has the rights to remove a scene from a movie after it gets censored. Even if they go to the court, they will end up losing the case.

People think Sarkar is a political film after seeing the leaked photos from the political gathering scene that was shot at EVP Filmcity, plus it is also titled Sarkar (Government). I come throughout the film, but if you ask me, I still do not know if Sarkar is a political film. AR Murugadoss is the right person to answer this question.

When you have a Superstar like Vijay, you need a perfect mix of everything, not just politics. Sarkar has everything that needs to show the heroic side of Vijay. I can you tell you that from whatever I saw while dubbing for the film. AR Murugadoss has done an excellent job and the way Vijay has carried the role is very nice, it might resemble some of his other characters but he has given a life to that role and given exactly what it needs."
