Actress Keerthy Suresh is currently awaiting her next Tamil release ‘Penguin’, which is all set to stream directly on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video, from the 19th of June. The actress opened up about her experience on working in the film and about it’s release.
Speaking about her role in the film, she said “When the director initially approached me with the script, he had doubts in his mind on whether Keerthy will agree to play the role of a mother. I never thought about all this. The script and the story is so strong, so I accepted it.”
Speaking about the direct OTT release, she said “The experience of watching a movie in a theatre is priceless. However, with the current scenario, we don’t know how many people will show up to the theatre if we wait and release it on the big screen first. We also don’t know how long the wait is. Through OTT, many people can watch the movie at the same time.”
Speaking about the salary reduction and her future films, Keerthy Suresh said “The situation is such that we will have to reduce our salaries, say around 20%-30%. I’m ready for it. For the movies I’m currently in talks with, I’m having discussions after reducing my salary.”
‘Penguin’ starring Keerthy Suresh as the lead is directed by Easwar Karthic and has music by Santhosh Narayanan. The project is bankrolled by Karthik Subbaraj’s Stone Bench Films, along with Passion Studios. Watch this space for more updates.
